Albert Billings, MA, LMHCA
Welcome! I am Albert Billings (he/him). I am a therapist in the Seattle area and serve all of Washington State through telehealth sessions.
I focus on positive growth and change to help clients live their best lives. I believe we have a natural urge towards wholeness, even at our lowest points or when we're the most troubled. I want to work with you to help find and foster that wholeness. This involves talking and processing where you can feel deeply heard and understood in a warm and caring space.
I am trained in:
Internal Family Systems (IFS) - a therapeutic model that works to bring our many parts into balance through an internal dialogue.
Mindfulness - a way of developing awareness of one’s internal states and surroundings in the present moment that can help to avoid habitual thoughts and responses without judging or reacting to them.
Motivational Interviewing - a directive, client-centered counseling style for eliciting behavior change by people to explore and resolve ambivalence to change.
Attachment Repair - a body of techniques to work on healing attachment wounds and moving people towards secure attachments in relationships.
Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy (PAP) - the use of psychedelic substances, such as ketamine, to promote change and healing, as well as the preparatory work for this use and the integration of the experiences following it.
My practice is focused on working with members of the technology industry and helping them with their needs, as an extension of my own 29 year tech career. I have a strong interest and connection with people considered "neurodivergent," such as ADHD and Autism. I also work closely with communities who are often marginalized, whether they are LGBTQIA+, involved in polyamory and ethical non-monogamy, or are spiritually outside of the mainstream. I have experience working with active duty soldiers, veterans, and their families through time at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM).
